Unknown Stone Cabochon

I have absolutely no idea what this material is! I asked several people and got (here it comes) several different answers. Since I've never seen this before, and only had one small piece, it stays in the collection!

35mm x 24mm x 5mm.   Weight: 32.30 carats.
